What is it about?
We (the charity organisation Jayma Kunan, registered in Germany) want to build a sports/playground for children in Huaycan, Peru. Huaycan, is an extremely poor slum located east of Lima with a population of 160.000.
Why a sportsground?
For approximately one year we are trying to make a little difference in the lives of the children in Huaycan by supporting the afternoon-school “Camino al Cielo” which is currently attended by 96 kids. In 2013 we helped to solve the most basic problems: Nutrition, Education and shelter by ensuring the following:
- One diversified and healthy meal per day for every child attending the centre
- Supply of text books for every grade and employment of additional teachers
- Construction of an additional classroom and a room for volunteers
- Provision of one pair of sneakers for every child, …
…so let’s do the next step and bring some fun into their lives!.. Of course the sportsground will be open to the entire community.
Who we are?
Jayma Kunan (Quechua language for Let’s help together now) is a German charity organisation active in Peru and Moldova. We guarantee that 100% of the donations we receive arrive exactly where they are needed without a single cent being deducted. All admin costs (e.g. insurances, transfer fees, etc.) are borne by our members. Also, we visit all our locations regularly (e.g. we had a Christmas party with all children attending Camino al Cielo in 2013…incl. presents for everyone of course)
