"Most United Knowledgeble Artists" in short M.U.K.A. founded in 1995 as a theatre project with street children in Johannesburg/South Africa will come to Berlin later this year.

The young artists come from Hillbrow, a troubled suburb of the megacity Johannesburg, where they are engaged in quarter management and a number of development projects aimed at showing a different life away from violence, drug abuse, prostitution and discrimination.

A group of eight young artists from M.U.K.A. will be taking part in "Kinderkulturkarawane 2008". From September 15th till September 19th, our NGO is planning performances and workshops with M.U.K.A. in secondary schools and youth clubs in Berlin.

As hosts we have to pay for their stay, lodging and food included, and for each performance as well. We are very eager to do that, because the group members are excellent performers. Back in 2006 we had already the opportunity to admire their artistic skills during a performance.

We plan to organise a touristic programme for M.U.K.A. with the focus on German history.

We have a lot of money to raise and will do so by applying to German institutions where we can get a substantial part of it, but we need your support too. Thank you very much in advance.

Coming soon....

Dear friends, in less than one month our guests from South Africa will be here in Berlin. So we are now very active in advertisement. A couple of newspapers recieved informations about the project and about the public presentation. This sunday there is a good opportunity to give away our flyers to people visiting us during the "Day of open doors" in the german Ministry of development cooperation. Two weeks later, 6th of September, we will be present on the yearly solidarity event of the Berlin journalists in a central place in our town called Alexanderplatz. Either we still looking for people who will "adopt" a M.U.K.A., means: we need more sponsors for food and for accomodation.
