After an assesment in 2009,3 years after the end of the insurgency in northern Uganda,children continued to suffer due to poverty and from the consequences of HIV/AIDS. Many people died due to war,and children were left as orphans others very vulnerable. This project came into existance so it can help the orphans and other vulnerable children in Lira and other parts of northern acces free education.Right now there are 10 people helping out with the project.The project aim to benefit 200 orphans and OVCs between the ages of 12 to 20 who are stll interested in continuing their education.
The community will benefit by sending their children to benefit from the free secondary school education to be offered by KEFRAMA College.
The biggest challenge at the moment are: money to build enough Classrooms for the children(students) to learn from,Water for the students,text books,computers as well as accomodation for students.Donations will help us complete the classrooms being built and also put up more classroom blocks and other facilities like libraries,laboratory and dormitories for students.
