Use a matching event to motivate even more people to donate!

Matching events are a great way to generate more donations. Using the budgets of external donors (e.g. companies, major donors, foundations, etc.), each donation can, for example, be boosted by an extra 10 %, 15 % or 25 %! That means: from a 5.000 € budget of a donor, donations can multiple up to 2-3 times. A matching event has several benefits:

  1. More people will donate to your matching campaign. People prefer to donate when their donations are added up. Their donation will have 20 % more or even twice as much impact thanks to a matching!
  2. The donation of the individual donor is multiplied. But the major donor is also happy, because he/she achieves more impact.
  3. In addition, matchings often only take place on a single day or in a limited period of time. Therefore, there is a strong urgency for your supporters not to postpone the donation until next week – and then possibly forget about it. Use this opportunity for your project!
  4. It is also a good reason to communicate with your supporters – whether they donate or not: Tell about a success, about what you have achieved or let a person tell the story of how you have helped with your work. And additionally mention the day of the matching event!
