What is Maecenata?

On betterplace.org are presented some organisations, that are based abroad and therefore are not recognized as charitable by German tax authorities. These organisations cooperate with the Maecenata Foundation, which is specialized in enabling foreign organisations to receipt donations in Germany through its Transnational Giving Program (www.tge.maecenata.eu). 

The Maecenata Foundation verifies the charitable status of this organisation and requests prove of the proper use of the donations forwarded to the organisation. At least 95% of all incoming donations will be forwarded from Maecenata to the project. In order to be admitted into the programme, the organization has to bring their own potential supporters from Germany.
