PataPia is a start up that is breaking barriers to the economic involvement and empowerment of refugee women in Uganda. We are revolutionizing village savings and loan associations through mobile software linked to mobile money that allows women refugees to save, get startup financing and go through a “start and grow your SME” mini MBA. The only requirement is a recommendation letter from UNHCR. With the business running, the women start saving a minimum of $5 each month for a year with high 10% annual interest.
