    Über das Projekt

A massive earthquake struck capital city of Nepal, Kathmandu and its surrounding districts (Gorkha, Dhading, Rasuwa, Sindhupalchowk and Kavre) Saturday afternoon (25th April, 2015) causing extensive loss of life and displacing many. The earthquake has caused full and partial damages to the building, structures and heritage sites.
Makani International is working in raising fund for ‘Nepal Earthquake Relief Assistance’ which will be used for relief, recovery and rehabilitation activities for earthquake affected people in Nepal.

    The story:
Since 2012, Jack Makani, CEO and Founder of Makani Academy, Cyprus (NPO) has been in Nepal several times to educate local Nepalese trainers, coaches and healers in cooperation with his Nepalese Partner CEO, Indra Gurung, Visionary International.
The cooperation and friendship has continued over the years and the professional network within the coaching community has grown bigger and bigger. In conjunction with professors fromTribhuvan Univerity, Kathmandu it was planned to start promoting a Master Degree in Psychotherapy and Counselling in 2016. ----- then the Earthquake came!!

Now, of course, we have to start all over again, literally at ground level, outdoors on the streets. The situation is desperate. Some of these people have lost their houses, relatives and friends.

Our trainers and coaches and their families are living outdoors in very poor conditions exposed to the elements and they are not allowed to return to their houses due to possible collapsing buildings. They report that their relatives and parents’s houses in outlying villages have been totally destroyed by the earthquake and in June the monsoon season is expected to bring heavy rainfalls, which will make the situation even worse.

Makani Academy has decided to launch the fundraising project ‘Nepal Earthquake Relief Assistance’ and ‘Hug & Heal’ which aims to provide financial and moral support to our Nepalese trainers, coaches, healers and their families realizing that they will not be able to help other people with trauma recovery if they don’t get help themselves from outside.

Secretary ICTA & Makani Academy, Ms. Manju Parajulee is leading ‘Nepal Earthquake Relief assistance’ campaign. She herself will be going to villages (outside Kathmandu valley) to distribute relief materials that will be purchased by your donations.

Nepalese Partner Indra Gurung- CEO Visionary International is Chief Leader of ‘Hug & Heal’ NepalQuake Campaign. Mr. Indra Gurung has contributed his expertise, time & effort for psycho social help after recent Earthquake.
