    Which goals will your activity support? Working to reduce gender disparity in education
    supporting studies for career minded professionals related to basic education and literacy
    How will you meet these goals?
    1. The provision of sanitary pads to girls will eliminate absenteeism from school by the girls when they are in their menstrual periods (estimated 2 months per year) and will lead to improved performance both academically and in intra curriculum activities. It will eliminate school drop out caused by the teasing of girls by their classmates when menstrual accidents happen.
    2. The Rachel software will be accessible to teachers and neighboring and youths who will learn better methods of teaching and new skills.

    Objectives:
    1. To eliminate the monthly absenteeism of about 4000 school girls from schools when they have their menstrual periods, thus improving their academic performance
    2. To improve the use of computers at St Peter Primary School
    Target group:
    1. 4000 School girls
    2. 1000 students at St peter School
    What community needs will your project address and how were these needs identified
    1. To eliminate monthly absenteeism from school of about 4000 school girls in 30 schools when they have their monthly menstrual periods. This has been observed by a 1 year attendance survey in the above schools. The survey is also supported by the survey done not only in Uganda but in the whole of Africa. It has been observed that on average, girls miss schools up to two months every year. Some even drop out of school if when they are ridiculed by their fellow students.     2. Improving the use of computers and learning at St peter School. The School have 20 computers but with a limited use due intermittent internet connection.
    How the project will address these community needs.
    1. Elimination of monthly absenteeism from the school by girls: the estimated 4000 school girls and their teachers will be supplied with sanitary towels for 2years. Each school have senior women teacher who is in charge of girls affairs who will be entrusted with the training and distribution of the towels on a regular basis.
