green2bee's "Sustainability World Tour" brings education for sustainability to high schools and information about sustainable production to SMEs all around the world. This is good for the environment, students, companies & people following the tour.

green2bee was founded in 2010 to run a "Sustainability World Tour". Two environmental managers go for 8 months from country to country by train and other means of public transport, to visit schools and SMEs, where they try to promote more sustainable consumption and production practices. This tour has the purpose to promote sustainability in different ways:
First, through the direct impact of education at schools. Understanding today's environmental challenges and the patterns of consumption that have caused them is a necessary condition for changes in behaviour.
Second, through the direct impact of the work with SMEs. Again the understanding of the environmental aspects of business activity is crucial to address the environmental impacts that are caused by this activity.
Third, there is an indirect impact of reporting about the tour with illustrative videos, photos and texts. green2bee is present in social media, cooperates with different media outlets and has its own website and newsletter.
The main beneficiary of the project is the environment. Furthermore, people and companies benefit from it. By choosing a positive and fresh approach, we try to convince people that sustainable consumption is fun. It can even be cheaper. Like individual persons, also companies can benefit from sustainable production. Efficiency improvements reduce resource needs, environmental management systems improve business to business relations, and "green" products and services have a great potential in grwoing niche markets.
The "Sustainability World Tour" has a very lean budget as it deals with information. The two environmental managers put time and effort into this project without being paid for it. That means all contributions are used to finance media equipment, travel expenses, insurances, educational material etc. green2bee does not charge schools or SMEs for its work. If some companies are able to contribute by covering green2bee's costs, small fees might be applied.
The bottom-line of green2bee's free-of-charge approach is that the "Sustainability World Tour" cannot do without donations. But it also means that students and small companies around the world get access to information that they would not have instead.
