Warm greetings from Israel!
In the month of March, 85 Euros were donated for the meetings with Holocaust survivors. A heartfelt thank you to all loyal supporters – your help makes this valuable work possible!
Last month, we were able to welcome a total of 22 Holocaust survivors in the March of Life House. Together we celebrated the joyful Purim festival, where many of the survivors dressed up in costumes with a lot of joy.
Purim commemorates the salvation of the Jewish people in the Diaspora in the 5th century BC. The government official Haman planned the extermination of all Jews in the Persian Empire – as can be read in the biblical book of Esther. We read excerpts of this book together during the celebration. Afterwards, some spontaneously told of the suffering their families had to experience during the Second World War and how they themselves survived.
We examined this event in comparison to October 7,2023 and affirmed: God stands by his people—the Jews—and preserves them. The guests went home encouraged and with joy in their hearts.
You, too, can help to ensure that such encounters continue to be possible, in which Holocaust survivors receive comfort and encouragement. Even with a one-time or regular donation, you can make a difference.
The average cost per person is about 35 Euros, which includes transport and food.
