Let's Support Children with Cancer in Haiti

Five years on from Ana's recovery, we raise money for children with cancer in Haiti. Let's keep the wheels of giving turning!

In 2014, Ana had a very rare type of cancer, leomyosarcoma primary in the lungs. She underwent life-saving surgery and high-dose chemotherapy. Her health insurance did not cover the full treatment and her army of friends run a charity to reduce the financial burden at that time. Ana was deeply touched with the tremendous support provided and is still today endlessly thankful.

In 2019, Ana’s 5th year of being in complete remission, Ana would like to give back and support paediatric oncology. Close to her heart is the St. Damien Hospital, the only paediatric hospital in Haiti. St Damien is funded by donations from benefactors from all over the world, though a charitable organisation Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos (NPH), literally meaning our little brothers and sisters. The desperate poverty in Haiti imposes a tremendous burden of sickness and suffering on many children, especially the children with cancer. With 17 beds on the oncology department, St Damien offers complete treatment for the family inclusive of all costs.
