About us

Ancora of Hope Organization (ANCHOR) is a local NGO which thinks globally. It was established by an Italian and a Ghanaian representatives with the aim of working to improve the life of beneficiaries in very poor communities through accessible education, hygiene and health care seminars, economic orientation, teaching of civic practices and developing of positive new mindset to make our humble society fit for living.

VISION
 Creating new positive mindset by tearing down all stereotypes;
 Giving opportunities to all generation to improve their knowledge through better education;
 Help virtuous people to exhibit their talents;
 To reduce any kind of discriminations among
individuals;
 To eradicate all negative conservatism among
societies.

MISSION
 To give formal and informal education to all;
 To guarantee fundamental rights;
 To operate in the needy communities, both rural
and urban (health care, education and skill
training);
 To fight against domestic violence of any kind.

GOALS
 Care for aged and people with disabilities;
 To provide advanced education to the maximum
reachable beneficiaries;
 Education on teenage pregnancy and Sexually
Transmitted Diseases (STDs);
 To get all the disadvantage people socially involved;
 To give support to widows and orphans.

OBJECTIVES
 To build a rehabilitation centre for the disadvantage communities;
 To educate at least 700 children by the end of 2017;
 To organize monthly health screening and seminars to create awareness of STDs.

AREA OF OPERATION
Ancora of Hope Organization (ANCHOR) operates in very poor communities, both rural and urban, where lack of quality education, health care, accessible roads, good food and clothing make the life of the inhabitants difficult to live.

ACTIVITIES OF ANCORA OF HOPE (ANCHOR):

1. COMMUNITY SOCIAL CENTRE:
A drop-in house where everybody can visit irrespective of their physical background for support and care. Also, as a centre where special attention is given to the aged who are being neglected for one reason or the other as well as rejected sick persons through home visiting for their support and also after-school centre for the community children.

2. SCHOOL OF HOPE:
 Full-time classes for out of school children;
 Part-time classes for working children;
 Rehabilitation for children with disabilities;
 Financial orientation for single parents;
 Part-time classes for adults (adult education);
 Basic to advance computer studies (IT learning).

3. SKILL TRAINING SESSION:
ANCHOR runs different skill training sessions to give self-employment opportunities to both women and young girls to take destiny to their own hands and acquire skills. The skill training sessions variate from hairstyling, dressmaking, bead making, catering and events decoration.

4. OUTREACH SESSION:
ANCHOR operates an outreach session to provide socio-economical, psychological and physical assistance to less privilege people in the society. ANCHOR organizes financial orientation, seminars and house to house counseling to poor families. Also, single parents are reached to discuss social issues and rehabilitation is given for all kind of disabled, aged and rejected people. Further health education and safe environmental practices are given to the selected poor villages.
