About us

The strong help the weak, the healthy stem cell donor helps the seriously ill patient.
This is the basic idea behind the work of the Aktion Knochenmarkspende Bayern foundation, or AKB for short. What was just an idea more than thirty years ago, an innovative approach to the therapy of leukemia patients through a voluntary stem cell donor, is now the third largest stem cell donor center in Germany. Our Bavarian donors help us save lives worldwide. We support the planning and implementation of typing campaigns within Bavaria, maintain the existing donor pool, search for a suitable stem cell donor and ourselves provide the necessary education and examination before a stem cell donation. At AKB, stem cell donors donate on site. Short distances and individual support ensure a pleasant and personal environment.
