About us

To change the miserable conditions of school sanitation in Kitale Kenya, a group of benefactors have joined hands and founded the non-profit association, Hand of Progress e.V. in Germany. By building new sanitary facilities in the rural village of Mukuyu , we want to break the vicious circle of diseases related to poor sanitation, inadequate hygiene and stinking latrine odours, and improve children's chances of growing up healthier and with dignity. Our work is based on christian convictions of being our brother's keeper and operates within the UN Sustainable Development Goals framework . These global goals seek to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity.

Particular attention is paid to the participation of the local community and churches together with the involvement of the county government and the Ministries of Health and Education.
