About us

"SOFRA - Queer Migrants e.V." is a Cologne-based association that emerged from the merger of "Rainbow Refugees Cologne Support Group e.V." and the self-organized meeting for LGBTIQ* refugees and migrants, "SOFRA". As the first LGBTIQ* migrant self-organization in NRW.
The association SOFRA Queer Migrants e.V. supports lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans*, intersex and queer people with a history of flight and migration. The offers include, in addition to individual case support and counseling, the monthly meeting place SOFRA Cologne, which as a self-organized offer of meeting refugees and migrants is an important contact point for the target group, and SOFRA FLINTA* - self-organized offer for the FLINTA target group. Beyond the target group-specific leisure activities and educational offers, the association advocates for the interests of LGBTIQ people who experience homophobia and transphobia as well as racism in urban and community politics.
