About us

Firstep is a non-profit organization that was founded in the wake of Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Our work began with the coordination of relief trips from Germany to the Ukrainian external borders. Relief supplies were distributed and donated at border points or refugee camps on the outward journey. On the return trip to Germany, refugees were picked up and taken to previously agreed upon accommodations. With these trips, with the help of countless volunteers, we were able to provide safe housing for nearly 1,000 people from the acute danger areas and ensure uncomplicated and rapid assistance. Our first relief operation inside Ukraine was also a success. We were able to deliver medicine, medical equipment, stationery and dog food directly to an animal shelter, our partner university and our partner school in Irpin, near Kiev. Soon our next trip to Ukraine will follow, where we will deliver an X-ray machine, as well as almost a ton of school supplies and medicine to Ukraine.
