About us

Established in 1923, the Musikverein Stadtkapelle Sachsenheim e.V. (MVS) is one of the oldest and largest cultural associations in the town. With the honor of the title "Stadtkapelle" (official municipal band) in 1960, the association sees itself as a sounding showpiece and as an ambassador of wind music in and around Sachsenheim. In addition to the main wind band, the MVS has a tradition of promoting young musicians. As early as 1956, the youth division was established with its own youth band. Today, the MVS offers children and teenagers qualified instrumental lessons for wind and percussion instruments in addition to the rhythmic-musical early education (4-6 years), the youngsters (8-12 years) and the youth band (12-18 years). The association is particularly proud of the brass classes (grades 3-4), which take place in close cooperation with the Sachsenheim Community Primary School.
