About us
It's already our second year operating as a place for individual and group Buddhist practices in Ukraine. There is water, a kitchen, a toilet, a roof over our heads, and solar electricity. We're also now testing a small wind generator. We are located in the forest 92 km far from Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine https://goo.gl/maps/6xJmXz9Vdmnmbvtg9
We were created as a center of Kagyu and Nyingma practices of Tibetan Buddhism in 2012 by a group of Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche's students. One of Rinpoche's disciples offered the Ukrainian community an old soviet-time resort in 2016, which we plan to develop into a modern retreat campus.
This organization cooperates with the Maecenata Foundation:

Green Tara in Wartime: A Practice of Hope at Gomde Ukraine
Despite the hardships of war, last weekend, dedicated practitioners gathered at Gomde Ukraine for the powerful practice of Green Tara. This was only possible thanks to your generosity, the kindness of our teachers, and the unwavering protection of Ukrainian defenders, who safeguard our sangha from destruction.
Tara holds a special place in the hearts of many Ukrainians—not just within Rangjung Yeshe but across many Buddhist communities. Since Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche bestowed the Tara initiation in Ukraine in 2012, this practice has flourished. Many Ukrainians also participate in the famous Tara’s Triple Excellence online program, and our sangha has even started translating it into Ukrainian to make it more accessible.

Yet, obstacles stand in the way. The war has turned even short trips to Gomde into a dangerous and costly journey. Daily shelling and military terror make travel uncertain. Many who wished to come simply could not — what was once a simple retreat is now an unprecedented luxury.
But some still made it, driven by determination, faith, and the deep need for Dharma in times of suffering. Their presence is a reminder that, no matter the challenges, the Dharma prevails.
🙏 To everyone who supports us — with donations, practice, or kind thoughts — thank you. You make it possible for Gomde to remain a refuge, a sanctuary, a place of healing.
Keep the Dharma doors open — support our work today!
