About us

The non-profit association "Sternbrücke, aber richtig! e.V." grew out of the Sternbrücke Initiative in Hamburg Altona. We are currently preparing a lawsuit against the car-friendly, climate-damaging and completely oversized new construction of the Sternbrücke. We are looking forward to your support!

For three years, the initiative has been fighting for the preservation of the historic Sternbrücke. The Hamburg Senate is demanding that the German Rail builds a new bridge in order to widen Stresemannstraße under the bridge for even more car traffic. We want to prevent the resulting "Monster-Sternbrücke" with its negative consequences for climate and environment.

The Sternbrücke is a culmination of the weaknesses of Hamburg's urban development policy: car-friendly, climate-damaging, oblivious to history and over the heads of the local people. We want to change that.

As a nonprofit association, we are fighting for this: Large construction projects need citizen participation. We need climate-friendly urban planning at Sternbrücke and throughout Hamburg.
