About us
The Werkbundarchiv - Museum der Dinge is a museum of the product culture of the 20th and 21st century, which is characterized by industrial mass and commodity production. The core of the institution is the archive of the Deutscher Werkbund. Founded in 1907, this association of artists, industrialists, and cultural politicians sought a life reform (Lebensreform) as part of the utopian cultural tendencies of the beginning of the 20th Century.
Since 2007, the Werkbundarchiv - Museum der Dinge has been located at Oranienstraße 25 in Kreuzberg. With its permanent exhibition in the form of an open depot with over 15,000 exhibits and with innovative special exhibitions, the museum attracts numerous visitors from Germany and abroad.
The Werkbundarchiv - Museum der Dinge is a permanent fixture in Berlin's museum landscape and will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2023.
