About us

The association for a social center in Göttingen has set itself the goal of strengthening social cooperation in the city. A place of community and coming together is to be created in the former prison on Platz der Synagoge. The core components of the social center will be a collectively organized health center with a focus on holistic and non-profit health care, as well as a central community space for the neighbourhood. Another part consists of spaces for children and young people, which they can freely and collectively participate in shaping.
To this end, we want to renovate the heritage-protected property in Göttingen's city center and fill it with life again. Civic engagement for the benefit of the community and the promotion of tolerance and participation are our focus and cornerstones of our work.
