About us
Founded in 1810, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin is one of the oldest German universities. Its teaching and research programmes cover all fundamental scientific disciplines in the humanities, social and cultural sciences, law, life sciences, mathematics and natural sciences, medicine, agricultural sciences and sustainability and materials research.
Thanks to numerous cutting-edge research projects and renowned international networks, Humboldt-Universität is one of the most important universities in the world. It has been one of Germany's eleven Universities of Excellence since 2012 and in the university consortium together with the partners of the Berlin University Alliance since 2019.
