About us
The Bharath Abhyudaya Seva Samithi (BASS), is an Indian Progressive Service Society, located in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh is a registered non-governmental voluntary organization established in 1978. BASS seeks to improve the livelihoods of children, youth, women and vulnerable people—those who are at the highest risk due to challenging socio-economic conditions. BASS works to bring relief and opportunity to rural and urban communities negatively impacted by poverty. The activities of the organization seek to promote social justice, equality and empowerment to disadvantaged peoples and victims of disasters in the Guntur district. BASS facilitates many activities including: educational, economic, social, health and emergency relief and rehabilitation services in Guntur and Praksham Districts of Andhra Pradesh, India .

Project Report: Sustaining Daily Meals for Senior Citizens in Guntur

We’re excited to update you on our daily meal program for senior citizens in Guntur from April to November 2024. Thanks to your support over the past three years, we’ve been able to keep our program running strong. We’re truly grateful for your help.
Since 2020, we’ve been providing daily meals to 80 seniors at two centers in Guntur. They gather at our centers at 10 AM, enjoy each other’s company, and share meals that bring them joy. We started this program during the COVID-19 lockdown to support seniors with challenging life stories, and it has continued to meet their needs. It’s been a place of comfort and community for them, helping to alleviate loneliness and poor health. The elderly are very happy to gather at the center, meet others, and share their lives joyfully.
Unfortunately, during the past year, we have not received any donations, making it very difficult to operate the project without your help to cover the cost of groceries, milk, vegetables, and cooking essentials. We need at least 350 Euros a month to keep one center open for 50 seniors.
