About us
Banyan Tree e.V. is a small, german NGO, founded in 2008. Our main project is our Scholarship-Program. There we give seven students the chance to continue their studies at the University of Battambang through a scholarship. Furthermore, we provide them with informal education to broaden their knowledge.
We also support poor families in the village to upgrade their situation. This, however, is not a financial support; we provide them with materials they need to work a family garden. This kind of support takes up more time, yet it is more sustainable then just donating money.
In addition we support the SALT Summer School regularly and we currently work together with the Cambodian Partnerorganisation of the german organisation TKG. At the moment, we are re-establishing our cooperation with lighthouse Battambang, too.
We've been looking for years for an appropriate Development-Aid-Project, were we could play a part in and were we can be sure, that 100% of our donations arrive there were they should: the local needy.
Our statues grant that:
1) All members work voluntarily
2) 100% of the donations will be invested in the projects in Cambodia
3) All spending must be monitored
4) Transparent documentation of spending the donations

Spendengelder, die nicht mehr für das Projekt ausgegeben werden können
Liebe Spender,
bei Projekten, bei denen Spendengelder über einen langen Zeitraum hinweg nicht angefordert wurden, sehen das Gesetz und unsere Nutzungsbedingungen vor, dass die Spenden von der gut.org gemeinnützigen AG (Betreiberin von betterplace.org) zeitnah für deren satzungsmäßige Zwecke verwendet werden müssen.
Deshalb setzen wir die noch nicht verwendeten Spendengelder für diese Zwecke ein
