Current project status and new perspectives

Dear supporters,

It is great to see that "Créditos Semillita" is reaching more and more people. The direct promotion of projects through small amounts of money has proven to be a good way to support the Asháninka in creating a sustainable economy.

So far, 69 interest-free microcredits have been granted to people from the following native communities: Cushiviani, Atahualpa, San Jacinto de Shauriato, Huantashiri, Boca Cheni, Yavirironi, Bajo Capiri, Pueblo Joven Pitocuna, Somontonari, Sinchijaroqui and Río Bertha. Women and men of the Asháninka people living in the town of Satipo also received microcredits and were able to implement their ideas. New photos from the last few months can be seen in the picture gallery.

In the native community of Río Bertha, after 7 families took part in the small loans program, the idea arose to purchase a cargo motorcycle for communal use. This gave rise to a new project: https://www.wirwunder.de/projects/129272?wirwunder=283

Other native communities have heard about "Créditos Semillita" and are keen to take part. The village chief of the Chontakiari community contacted Jhenny and José from Imperita and asked for support. The aim is to grow turmeric, manioc, cocoa, maize and bananas. This is a sign that our microcredits are not just seen as individual support, but as a way of strengthening entire native communities. We find this new development extremely important and want to grant 5 microcredits for Chontakiari in the coming months.

Kind regards
