The fka - Friends of Asylum Karlsruhe e. V. was founded in 1987 with the aim of making it easier for people with refugee and migration experience to integrate into Germany and to give them the right starting support.
In recent years, our tasks and our area of activity have constantly expanded. Today we are active in Karlsruhe and other locations in the surrounding area and have an office in the Southern Palatinate (Germersheim). In the past, we have managed three projects in West Africa.
Advice, education and trauma work - these are the three cornerstones of our work: both in the past in the House of Hope in West Africa and in the fka in Germany. Our project portfolio is as diverse as the people we work with. Our team is made up of experts with and without migration experience - local specialists also supported us in the Africa projects.
The fka receives support from the public sector and foundations to carry out its projects. Unfortunately, this does not always cover all necessary expenses (many donors provide recipients with their own funds), which is why we urgently rely on donations.
