Legal Support for Asylum Seekers and Refugees on Samos

We are I HAVE RIGHTS. A new founded legal organisation on the Greek "hotspot" island Samos. Our organisation evolved from the Refugee Law Clinic Berlin, which operated on Samos for three years. 
We provide free and independent legal support to all asylum seekers and refugees on the island. Together with Avocats Sans Frontières, we operate in the Samos Legal Centre to prepare asylum seekers for their interviews or give legal information workshops. We also support people on the move with subsequent applications and appeals in case they already received a negative decision to their asylum application in the past. In urgent cases where there is an imminent risk of irreparable harm, we also focus on interim measures in front of the European Court of Human Rights. Interim measures focus on vulnerable people like pregnant women, unaccompanied minors and ill people who need medical treatments on the mainland. Out of 66 applications we have submitted so far, 57 have been approved.
In order to be able to continue this important work on Samos, we depend on donations. This is the only way we can guarantee professional and constant legal support for our clients and work to assert their human rights at the European external border.
