The conflict in Ukraine poses an immediate and growing threat to the lives and well-being of the country’s 7.5 million children. Humanitarian needs are multiplying – and spreading by the hour.
Right now, the children and families in Ukraine need UNICEF’s assistance more than ever. That is why UNICEF is working around the clock to scale up life-saving programmes for children to provide access to basic services. UNICEF is calling to save the children and to make sure that humanitarian assistance reaches children and families in need as fast as possible.
Children have been killed. Children have been wounded. They are being profoundly traumatized by the violence all around them. Hundreds of thousands of people are on the move, and family members are becoming separated from their loved ones. In the last days, the escalating situation has damaged essential institutions for children, such as schools, kindergartens as well as water facilities.
How UNICEF helps children and families from Ukraine with your donation
UNICEF has been assisting children from Ukraine since the beginning of the conflict – no matter where they live. Now UNICEF is scaling up the support, right now with 140 UNICEF colleagues. They are making sure that the children continue to get the protection and the support they need.
The families are in need of basic items, such as:
· Hygiene kits and items
· Blankets, warm clothes for children
· Gas stoves to keep warm
· Batteries for torches etc.
· Fuel
· Health kits for primary health care
Furthermore, UNICEF ensures urgently needed replenishment: right now, more humanitarian supplies are being organized from the central warehouse in Copenhagen and from Ukraine’s neighboring countries.
The current situation is horrendous for the children from Ukraine. They need our assistance now!
Please support UNICEF’s work with a donation for the children and families from Ukraine. Thank you!
The stated needs and humanitarian items stand exemplarily for UNICEF’S support on the ground.
