Aid for Refugees from Ukraine

Since 2016, the Hamburger Hilfskonvoi e. V. has been organising aid deliveries to the refugee camps at the EU's external borders. It works hand in hand with the local organizations, to ensure that the help arrives where it is needed.

The war in Ukraine represents a whole new dimension. That's why the Hamburger Hilfskonvoi has joined with over 30 associations to form a network - Netzwerk Ziviler Krisenstab - that provides people with extensive help even in this rather confusing war situation - with the delivery of relief goods of any kind to Ukraine and its neighbouring countries, by creating transport facilities for refugees and the care of refugees in the arrival centers in the Ukrainian border area.

During the first days of the war, the association focused on the situation in Poland. Tens of thousands of people from Ukraine arrive there every day to be cared for. Warehouses have to be filled with food and hygiene products, shelters that are currently being built-up urgently need support in equipping them with beds/mattresses, pillows, blankets, etc. and providing people with food, hygiene products and clothing.

After our first relief trip, we were able to establish new contacts, receive lists of needs and try to meet these needs as soon as possible.
For several years now, we have been working closely with forwarding companies that also bring our relief supplies to Poland.
More than two million people from Ukraine have found shelter in Poland and need to be supplied.

We support civil society solidarity in Poland. Wherever we are needed.
