About this project

Noah Müthing from Deutsche Welthungerhilfe e.V. is responsible for this project
Dear supporters,

Since Russia attacked Ukraine, there has been a war in Europe. There are fights and explosions in several parts of the country. Casualties are rising, many people are fleeing Ukraine and seeking shelter in neighboring countries. The attack on Ukraine directly threatens the lives of millions of people.
According to estimates by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), 2.9 million Ukrainians were already in need of humanitarian assistance before the attack.  According to the UNHCR, more than 4 million people have already fled the war in Ukraine.

The refugees have to leave most of their belongings behind. After arriving in neighboring countries such as Poland, Slovakia, Romania or Moldova, many of them are now left with nothing. Even though the willingness of the local population to help is very great, the sheer number of refugees poses huge challenges for the host countries. Even basic things like food or hygiene articles are lacking.

We can provide rapid assistance through a broad network of European aid organizations. At the moment, the focus is on providing first aid to people who have had to flee the war. At the same time, we are already determining what support will also be needed in the crisis region in the medium and long term.

In the Alliance2015, we have been working closely for years with the aid organizations People in Need (PIN) and the Agency for Technical Cooperation and Development (ACTED). Together with our partners, we are active in the crisis region:

Ukraine: Through PIN, we support Ukrainians with hot meals, the distribution of hygiene kits and cash.
Republic of Moldova: Through ACTED, we support arriving refugees with hygiene items and food. In addition, teams on the ground ensure that refugees are provided with all important information as quickly as possible and that they are transported to reception centers.

Through our partners, we ensure that your donation gets to where it is urgently needed the fastest. Please support us with your donation.

Note: The relief supplies and needs listed are exemplary of the support needed on the ground and will be used where they are most urgently needed.
