R. de Silva Jayasinghe from Sri Lanka - Schule und Leben e.V. is responsible for this project
With this project we support the Weheragalla education centre Mirissa / Sri Lanka. The centre is run by the local buddhist temple.
Sponsored by generous individuals around the world the monks have build up facilities like a day nursery, english courses and a computer room that is connected to the Internet.
The support project has been started after the Tsunami in 2004/2005 and has been running since then. Currently we are focused on establishing a financial basis to pay well educated teachers on a regular basis.
The courses and facilities are available to all citizens of Mirissa and shall serve them to extend their knowledge and education to have better chances to get advanced jobs in the nearby cities.
All donations collected (at betterplace.org) will be used 100% for the project in Mirissa.
