Through the project "Meckenheim blüht auf" (Meckenheim blossoms), we are committed to biodiversity at the local level. We focus on natural flowering areas in residential areas and are supported by our members, helpers and the city of Meckenheim.

About this project
Maximilian Mund from Die Stadt blüht auf e.V. is responsible for this project
With the project "Meckenheim blooms up" we plant wildflower and insect meadows all over Meckenheim with regional seeds. This is done in cooperation with the city of Meckenheim, volunteers and with the advice of the University of Bonn and the Biostation Rhein-Sieg-Kreis.
As an association we have set ourselves 3 goals:
1. to promote biodiversity and thus the local flora and fauna,
2. to make Meckenheim even more beautiful with colorful flower meadows and
3. to sensitize and inform through information signs and our online presence.
Meckenheim is our beautiful city of apples and roses, and yet is held up by excellent professors as a negative example of insect mortality.
With the help of the local citizens we would like to bring Meckenheim to bloom together.
