SOS Children's Villages: Educational work worldwide for a better future

SOS Children's Villages enable parentless and disadvantaged children to receive a sound schooling and education that matches their individual talents and abilities.

In poor countries and communities, however, the education offered locally is often inadequate and there are hardly any training places. That is why SOS Children's Villages operates its own kindergartens, schools and Vocational Training Centers at many locations. In this way, we set standards for high-quality education and pave the way for socially disadvantaged girls and boys to lead a self-determined and dignified life.

Our educational programs are also open to girls and boys from the neighborhoods of our SOS Children's Villages. We also provide children from poor families with access to education, for example by helping them with school fees and vocational training.

Our educational institutions: 

To enable families to help themselves, we also focus on education for parents: through literacy courses, vocational counseling and advanced training. In this way, we also lay the foundation for social and economic development. After all, education is one of the most effective means of sustainable development cooperation.
