About this project
In the past, urban agriculture ideas have been implemented in many countries and cities. For example, the Cuban government created incentives to produce and market goods locally. This project builds on these initiatives.
Students from the University for Sustainable Development in Eberswalde, the KARUNA Social Cooperative and our partners in Cuba (Universidad de Sancti Spíritus) will cultivate Tiny Farms and expand organic agriculture in Cuba. Through the international exchange and collaboration between Cuban and German activists, people will be motivated to promote sustainable nutrition and thus contribute to overcoming the food crisis.
Tiny Farms enable an improvement of the soil's water storage capacity and thus contribute to the preservation of biodiversity. In addition to these ecological effects, Tiny Farms also strengthen social sustainability by contributing to network building and improving working conditions through community cultivation and direct marketing.
In Cuba, the food crisis has already led to social unrest and our solidarity is needed. We have no time to lose, please support our cause!
