TUM Deutschlandstipendium - Matching Challenge 2023

    TUM Deutschlandstipendium Alumniverein
A project from TUM Deutschlandstipendium Alumniverein in München, Germany
If we win the Matching Challenge in 2023, every euro donated to the Deutschlandstipendium will be quadrupled. In 2022, we exceeded the target of €9,000 with €11,415. Will we collect €12,000 for new Deutschlandstipendien this year?

    About this project

Susanne Birkeneder from TUM Deutschlandstipendium Alumniverein is responsible for this project
What is the Matching Challenge and how does it work?
After last year's very successful Matching Challenge, TUM and the Association for the Promotion of German Scholarships have now taken on a new, more difficult challenge - the Matching Challenge 2023.

To master this challenge, there is one condition - by April 24, 2023, we must collect together at least a sum of 12,000 euros for new Deutschlandstipendien. If we succeed, two co-donors will double every euro donated. Following the principle of the Deutschlandstipendium, the federal government will double this amount a second time, resulting in a total sum of at least 48,000 euros - which could already provide 13 more TUM students with a Deutschlandstipendium.

The Challenge is a great opportunity to achieve maximum funding with little effort. So let's use this chance together and show the co-donors how great the solidarity in the Deutschlandstipendien network is!

How successful has the Matching Challenge been in the past?
Last year, we managed to exceed the fundraising goal of €9,000 by far and collected a total of €11,415 - a complete success! In total, 13 new scholarship places could be created for the current funding period.

In which period can I donate?
The Matching Challenge 2023 is open for a period of 12 weeks - it starts on the day of the festive event, Monday, January 30 and ends on Monday, April 24. So your support is needed now!

What is the principle of the Deutschlandstipendium?
The Deutschlandstipendium is a scholarship program funded by the German government.
Each scholarship holder receives 300 euros per month. Half of this amount is paid by a (private) sponsor and the other half by the federal government.

What happens if we lose the Matching Challenge?
If we do not reach the sum of 12,000 euros, the collected donations will of course still be doubled by the state. In this case, however, the contribution (i.e., the further doubling) of the co-donors will not apply.

Who can I contact for questions about the Matching Challenge?
The board of the TUM Deutschlandstipendium-Förderverein can be reached at any time at vorstand@dstip-alumni-tum.org and also the team of the Deutschlandstipendium at TUM at deutschlandstipendium@tum.de.
