Hi, I'm Hannah and from august 2023, I'm going to travel to Costa Rica for one year. I am sent by the organization VISIONEERS based in Berlin. In Costa Rica, I will support the Maltiox project as a volunteer which is financed by weltwärts.
The Maltiox project in Costa Rica supports the community of Rosario, near Naranjo.
On the one hand, children and young people are taken care of: they play, move a lot, eat together and are also taught English/German.
With the senior citizens of the community, time is spent mainly doing handcrafts and talking.
The focus of the whole project is on "bien estar" (the well-being/ mindfulness) regarding the body and the soul.
However, the environment is also an important part of the project, so every second week we'll hike and collect trash. In addition, the project plants gardens and generally tries to create more awareness for environmental protection.
The project weltwärts and my organization VISIONEERS are financed by the German Bundesministerium für Entwicklung und Zusammenarbeit (Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development) to 75%. However, the remaining 25% (3,000€) must be generated from donations so that the project and VISIONEERS can continue to exist and international aid can still be provided.
Therefore I would be really grateful if you could support the Maltiox project, the people as well as nature, VISIONEERS and me with a donation.
