#Strongwomen: Empowering women in Yemen and Jordan

We need your support: With your donation, we can give women in crisis areas new perspectives through vocational training, the provision of economic knowledge and resilience strengthening.
In disasters and crisis, it is even more important to provide support to women and girls in a specific way. They are more vulnerable and often financially dependent. At the same time, however, they have enormous potential: In difficult situations, such as the civil war in Yemen and the tense situation in Jordan, women increasingly play an important role for their families and societies. If the male provider of the family dies or becomes sick, all responsibility lies with the women. That is why we specifically train women in our projects: In Jordan, we have trained over 400 women in composting, elderly care and childcare - professions that they can pursue without major hurdles and that also provide them with financial security, independence and recognition.
In Yemen, 300 women in rural areas receive not only talent training but also business training and are strengthened in their resilience.
In addition, we offer workshops in which women are trained about their rights and their important role in peace processes, as set out in UN Resolution 1325. The aim is to empower women in various areas of society to play an active role in shaping peace processes.

The investment in these women has a highly multipliying effect: With the income they can provide for their (extended) families and at the same time the training also benefits for example the elders and other mothers in their community as well as the economic situation of their communities is strengthened.
