#CrossBorderRail 2023 Germany

In 2022 Jon Worth crossed every internal border of the EU you can cross by train - the #CrossBorderRail project. Now he is back with a new idea - to go to each of Germany's rail borders in May 2023, the first month of the new Deutschlandticket.

In 2022, Jon Worth crossed every internal border of the European Union that you can cross by train - the #CrossBorderRail project. The project revealed many of the deficiencies of train travel across Europe, and proposed political solutions for some of those issues.
The 2022 project was financed here on betterplace.org
Now Jon is back with a new project - to cross all of Germany's rail borders to its neighbouring countries, and do that in May 2023, the first month of the new Deutschlandticket.
Where trains do not run any more, Jon will take to his folding bicycle to cross the borders. And he will film and photograph as he goes, including footage from a drone.
Jon will visit a new border each day en route, and at the end of each day there will also be a discussion event with activists.
The not-for-profit MitOst e.V. provides administrative and bookkeeping support for this project, and hence receives 10% of the total money raised.
€2627 needs to be raised to cover the minimum costs for the project - once that is raised the project can go ahead. Ideally a higher sum - €5171 - would be raised, so as to be able to pay Jon the minimum wage for the time invested preparing and running the project.
