Personal coaching for cancer patients - Patient Empowerment

We are TherapySelect non-profit gUG (haftungsbeschränkt), a small but dedicated non-profit company from Heidelberg. Our aim is to enable cancer patients to understand their disease and fight it together with their doctors. 

After a cancer diagnosis for yourself or a relative, you are usually in shock and don't know what to do next. Many questions arise, for example about the different treatment options. As doctors often don't have enough time to properly respond to patients and answer all their questions, cancer patients often feel helpless and alone with their fears. 

To support cancer patients during this difficult time, we offer personalised patient coaching. As part of this coaching, cancer patients receive all the necessary information about their illness and its treatment. This enables them to cope better with their illness. 

It has been proven that informed cancer patients have a better treatment outcome and a higher quality of life. Only informed patients can make the right treatment decisions together with the doctors treating them and cope better with their illness ("patient empowerment"). 

The selection of an effective therapy is also important for the prognosis of cancer. That is why we also help cancer patients to find an effective therapy. With the help of various diagnostic options, we can analyse whether the planned therapy is effective or not before starting treatment. Only if a patient receives an effective therapy is there a chance of a cure. 

Unfortunately, cancer patients usually have financial worries on top of their health concerns and many cancer patients cannot afford patient coaching. So that these patients can still receive this important support, we ask you for a donation. 1 hour of patient coaching costs 150 euros. We would like to collect donations for 20 coaching hours (3,000 euros) in order to be able to help as many cancer patients as possible.
