    About this project

Dennis Igelmann from SV Concordia Suurhusen e. V. is responsible for this project
The training ground, which was built 25 years ago, offers our junior and senior football teams, together with the functional floodlight system that has already been erected, the opportunity to train, develop and prepare for the league games at the weekends. Due to the high utilisation in recent years, it is now necessary to renovate the training ground, despite measures taken in the meantime.

The renovation includes in particular the milling, filling and levelling of the top layer of soil as well as the subsequent reseeding. In addition, an area of approx. 3,000 m² next to the training ground, which was reclaimed from a fallow last year, is to be developed into a further, small grass training ground, in order to have an alternative option to protect the training ground, especially for training sessions in the fitness segment that require grass. In addition, about 500 m of drainage will have to be laid. In perspective, this area can also be further developed in the next few years to optimise the training possibilities.

The entire project planning for this project has already taken place. In the run-up, various preliminary work has been done since autumn 2022 by the volunteer-led board, but especially also by our greenkeeper and the "SVC sports field heroes" made up of young and young-at-heart volunteers who are dedicated to the maintenance and development of our sports field area, and by some active club members. Thus, in several hundred hours of voluntary work, small forestry and green area work has already been carried out, an additional drainage lot has been pulled after consultation with the municipality of Hinte, tree roots have been completely removed and a construction road has been built so that the competition turf is not affected during the upcoming work and is spared accordingly.

Since all the necessary preparatory work has already been done, the project should be started as soon as possible so that the grass seeding can also be done quickly, depending on the weather. In order for the grass to grow firmly, the training ground must then be protected and not used. For this period, it is sometimes necessary to outsource training, especially in the winter months when it is not possible to use the competition turf.

The entire project planning, the preparatory work as well as the now announced renovation work will be carried out on a voluntary basis and under the direction of club members and friends of SV Concordia. Only the levelling work will be carried out by an external contractor due to the lack of the club's own machinery. The costs associated with the project are therefore mainly consumables, rental tools/loaning machines and materials.
