The "Monster-Sternbrücke " in Hamburg Altona is a terrible idea. We want to stop the construction of this oversized design, and its awful consequences. The last "democratic" meassure is a lawsuit.
That is why it's time to take "Deutsche Bahn" to court. Join the fight!
The historic Sternbrücke in Hamburg-Altona is to be torn down and replaced by a new bridge many times the size of the old one. At least, if the Senate and "Deutsche Bahn" get their way...
The new bridge will destroy a unique place, a diverse small-scale cultural scene, which is known beyond Hamburg - it will destroy 90 trees, just for the construction and transport of the bridge. The enormous size of the new railway bridge is caused by the intention of the Hamburg Senate to widen the "Stresemannstraße" below the bridge for even more traffic.
The neighborhood has been fighting back for 3 years! With demonstrations, with protest concerts, with letters to the Senate and "Deutsche Bahn" and so on. Architects and engineers also criticize the monsterous bridge design and Hamburg veteran architect Prof. Karsten Brauer has presented a viable alternative design. Nevertheless, the Senate and Deutsche Bahn are full steam ahead with their deeply flawed plans.
We want to send a signal to the politicians: This is not the way! Large construction projects need civic participation. We need urban planning that is climate-friendly and socialy compatible.
Our last chance to prevent the monsterous bridge: Support the lawsuit with your donation!
In total, about €80,000 are needed for the Sternbrücke re-planning lawsuit. We have fundraising targets that we want to have reached BEFORE the start of each phase:
- Check final planning and file a lawsuit (€24k).
- Prepare careful argumentation and justify lawsuit (€32k)
- Prepare and conduct trial (€24k)
Together we will be sucessful! As a enviromental organisation "Prellbock e.V". is entitled to bring an action against the planning decision. Your donations will be used for expenses directly related to the lawsuit, e.g. fundraising campaign, expenses for lawyers, court and procedural costs, costs for the trial.
If the case ends in a win and there is a reimbursement of costs, should we receive too many donations or should the lawsuit be withdrawn due to e.g. seriously lacking prospects of success, donations may remain. We will use these exclusively for statutory and charitable activities in our district around the Sternbrücke.
