About this project

SONED e.V. from Southern Network for Environment and Development is responsible for this project
The International community film Festival "Ojo al Sancocho" arises from the experience built for more than 15 years in Colombia, in the Ciudad Bolivar neighborhood of Bogota, there has built Potocine a movie theater, also a film school where they make their own productions; Ojo al Sancocho is a great example of community cinema to transform societies in community. It has also had experiences in other countries in South America and Europe.  The Festival is proposed to be held from September 21 to 23, 2023 in Berlin, Germany. We will have audiovisual projections, performances, video installations, workshops, round tables, concerts, exhibitions, common pots, among other participatory actions. In which we seek to promote reflective encounters around the themes: Gentrification, Climate Change, Migration and Racism.

We aim to encourage citizen participation, political, cultural and social empowerment, as well as the democratization of film and audiovisuals In order to contribute to the construction of a more just, diverse, inclusive and participatory society.

The initiative is aimed at the general community living in Berlin. Through this community cinema methodology, various LGBTIQ+ social sectors, migrants, bipoc, women, workers, teachers, students, and activists are invited to participate.

In alliance with Soned e.V (Southern Networks for Environment and Development), HausProjekt movements of Berlin community, HausProjekt K19, migrant organizations, social activists, emerging artists, together we planned and executed the festival.

We have an open call to receive videos made with participatory methodologies, made by social organizations, movements, activists and that are concerned with proposing other more just and egalitarian worlds.

Through this collection of money, we seek to finance the logistics and meet the needs to carry out the 2023 Ojo al Sancocho community film festival in Berlin, Germany, from September 21 to 23; This project seems very important to us because we believe that from the community cinema and through open, participatory and supportive meeting spaces, we can generate exchanges of knowledge, critical reflections, dialogues and actions around current issues in the world, such as gentrification, climate change, migration and racism.
