    About this project

we together - Maria Koornhof from We integrate e.V. is responsible for this project
This donation campaign ensures the survival of "we integrate e.V.," an important player in Nuremberg that brings people together and does important educational work. We will receive funding from the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees for 3 years if we can raise a total of 60,000 of our own resources! Please support us in this endeavor!

Integration can only succeed where people meet, learn from each other, and act together. The project "we together" promotes collaborative engagement between immigrants and local citizens to implement joint projects that support integration, combat racism and discrimination, and promote dialogue with the aim of strengthening social coexistence.

The project pursues three different approaches:

    • Sustainable expansion of existing integration and awareness projects and attracting new volunteers for these goals.
    • Developing innovative project approaches and providing advice during implementation.
    • Identifying integration needs in Nuremberg, developing project approaches, attracting volunteers for the projects, and building support networks for these projects.

The "we together" project represents a civil society "integration engine" for the Nuremberg area as it promotes the development of new projects and the involvement of the city's society and existing networks. It stands out, in particular, by directly involving third-country nationals, especially recognized refugees, in project development and implementation, thus promoting social and societal participation.

Increasing the self-determination, co-design, and empowerment of refugees in the Nuremberg area are essential factors contributing to sustainable integration. Equally important is raising awareness among the host society and promoting mutual understanding, openness, and tolerance through encounters between locals and refugees. Mutual learning is therefore the focus of the project and its intended goals. Addressing the needs in Nuremberg and promoting volunteer engagement, as well as the synergies resulting from cooperation between partner organizations, refugees, initiatives, and volunteers, have a positive long-term impact on the engagement and cohesion of the city's society.

Experiencing how very different people come together, get to know each other, communicate, overcome barriers, create projects together, spend leisure time, celebrate events, and support each other is highly motivating and shows that promoting encounters and enabling people to deal with differences in a tolerant and respectful manner is not only possible but also incredibly enriching and rewarding. The demand is high, and we hope for your support!
