In the night from Friday to Saturday, the most severe earthquake in an entire century occurred in Morocco. With a magnitude of 6.8, the quake caused houses to collapse, especially in Marrakech and the Atlas region.
More than 2,000 people lost their lives, and well over 1,000 people were injured, some of them seriously. That very morning after the quake, we contacted our partners on the ground in Morocco. We are in permanent contact with those affected in the disaster area. Together with our partners, we are planning rapid aid.
Those affected now need unbureaucratic and rapid humanitarian aid.
The situation in the affected areas is steadily deteriorating and the people on the ground urgently need help.

Please help us to make fast help possible.
The actual extent of the disaster and the current needs of the people on the ground will be clarified in the next few hours.
