    About this project

Jan Amtmann from Technik ohne Grenzen e.V. is responsible for this project
    Background
This project is part of a series of TCB projects in Ghana. The long-term goal of these projects is to provide students with the opportunity to learn hands-on computer use in their schools. Specifically, past projects have provided two schools in Ghana with laptops for IT classes: the Catholic School and the Methodist School in Agona Abodom (each with approximately 650 students and 15 teachers). In addition, the teachers were trained in the use of the devices and introduced to office applications. The number of students at both schools is rising sharply. As a result, the capacity of the classrooms is reaching its limits. The computer rooms in particular lack the desks and chairs needed for IT lessons.

    Project Goal
The aim of this project is to adapt the furniture in the IT classrooms to the increased number of students. A total of 25 desks and 110 chairs will be purchased for both schools. In addition, smaller items will be purchased for theft protection and electrical equipment.

    Implementation
The central task in the implementation of the project is the procurement of the furniture. In a further step, the IT classrooms will be redesigned with the new tables and chairs so that they offer enough capacity for the growing school community. The project is implemented by local members of our association. There are no flight costs, so all donations directly benefit the furniture in the schools. Furniture is sourced exclusively from local businesses in Ghana.
