About this project

It is located in the village of Kounoune and consists of 2 schools:
- Kounoune 1
with 676 pupils, 16 teachers and 12 classrooms. - Kounoune 2
with 210 pupils, 8 teachers and 6 classrooms.
On Tuesday and Thursday, the children return to school in the afternoon for 3 hours, from 3pm to 5pm.
Parents pay a contribution of 3000 CFA (6 Euros) per year for each child.
With this money, the school buys cleaning supplies, papers, chalk, etc.
On the picture you can see how the current toilet block looks like in the primary school Koune/Senegal.
The issue of toilet blocks is becoming a matter of concern at Kounoune Primary School. Pupils are reluctant to go to the toilet. The privacy of the pupils is a real public health challenge. This can lead to urination problems, especially for little girls.
The children's well-being is an important factor for their success at school. The renovation of the toilets needs to be integrated into the school environment so that hundreds of children who spend most of their time at school can feel comfortable.
We ask for your generosity for the renovation of our toilets.
