Since February 2022, Russia has been starting a full-scale invasion against Ukraine, and there has been war in the east of the country since 2014.
As anesthesiologists, we, Martin Schott and Dirk Hahne, support clinics and medical facilities in Ukraine with medical materials and medication.
We are in close contact with the Augsburg group "We are here" around Henryk Pich and Karina Drozd and realize many projects together. There are also close contacts with the group “United Help for Ukraine” (UHU) from Göttingen (https://unitedhelpforukraine.eu).
We have already been to Ukraine several times to get to know the situation and current needs better. We work in a clinic in Hanover.
The situation in Ukraine has changed. At the beginning, a lot of things were missing and the supply routes were only being established. In our experience, it is now about targeted and needs-oriented support for clinics, medical training centers and committed groups in Ukraine.
We were able to send nearly 1600 packages with medical materials, medicines and equipment (including emergency ventilators and bags, bandages, etc.) to various clinics in Ukraine and help finance 10 ambulances / evacuation cars for Ukraine (March 2025).
The need of the people in Ukraine is great, and the situation for medical facilities remains difficult. With our project we want to help in a targeted and needs-oriented way:

- Direct purchase of urgently needed materials/medicines and quick shipping to Ukraine
- Collecting medical materials and medication from clinics and practices or from private individuals
- Co-financing of ambulances for evacuation
- Collaboration and networking with other groups or initiatives that are committed to Ukraine
