Equipment for the humanilog rescue balloon

As climate-related natural disasters (floods, droughts, etc.) have increased tenfold in recent decades, disaster prevention and relief are of great importance in the present and future. When infrastructure is impaired or even destroyed, the only solution is often expensive means of transportation such as helicopters, which are difficult to access in developing countries. 

With our humanilog rescue balloon, which flies on hydrogen, we can solve infrastructural problems. Our balloon has a diameter of 10 meters, can be controlled with portable winches and can be used as a communication, lighting, monitoring and crane system. 

Last year (2023), we were able to successfully complete three training sessions with the help of donations. For this year (2024), we are planning further training courses on various sites to prepare us for additional deployment scenarios and to continuously improve the system itself. We already had our first training session this year in April.

Among other things, we need donations for our training balloon (8 m diameter), as we have planned several training sessions for next year and it is worthwhile for us to buy the balloon in the long term instead of renting it. We can also "spare" our current humanilog rescue balloon. We also need donations for a trailer, IBC container, round slings, lashing straps, ratchets and a high-quality lamp for our lighting unit.
