A stoma changes life, but doesn't make it any less worth living
Stomas are disabilities that are largely taboo in society. Almost 150,000 people in Germany alone live with a stoma without it being visible. As a result of life-threatening diseases such as bowel cancer, bladder cancer, chronic bowel diseases or due to accidents.
We are stoma patients ourselves and support those affected and their relatives on their way back to a life worth living. With helpful information, an active exchange of experiences and personal advice.
Due to congenital malformations, 800 newborn children need a stoma every year to give them a chance at life. We support their parents in integrating the necessary aids into their everyday family life, at home, at nursery and at school.
