    About this project

Adil Demirci from Stimmen der Solidarität - Mahnwache Köln e.V. is responsible for this project
As a human rights association in Cologne, we support the film project "Asadur: The Search for Lost Identity," which explores the individual and societal consequences of the Armenian genocide and its enduring effects on Armenian identity from the perspective of grandchildren, descendants, and experts. Furthermore, this documentary serves as a mediator of the culture of remembrance by emphasizing the importance of preserving historical events and collective memories. Through the poignant portrayal of the search for lost identities and the ongoing struggle for truth and recognition, the film contributes to raising awareness about the historical events of the Armenian genocide. It encourages reflection on the past and present to establish a firmer foundation for reconciliation, understanding, and a respectful approach to history.
The film team includes, among others, the experienced director Memet Emin Yıldız and Şerif Çiçek as producers, Alexis Kalk, Onur Güler, Orsola Casagrande as producers, Mesut Ethem Kavalli as the screenwriter, and Adil Demirci as the project coordinator. The filming takes place in Turkey, Italy, and Germany. We embark on a kind of search for traces in various locations, including the archives of the Armenian Catholic monastery San Lazzaro degli Armeni in Venice."
We aim to complete the filming for the movie by summer 2024. Donations will be used for the costs of filming and post-production (film editing, sound processing, etc.)
